Remove Silence

Remove Silence cuts dead air out of a clip. Select a clip on the timeline, then open Remove Silence from the sidebar.

Settings

• Audio Tracks: which audio tracks to analyze.
• Silence threshold: audio quieter than this is removed.
• Minimum silence duration: pauses shorter than this are kept.
• Padding before / after: extra time kept around each sound so words don’t get clipped.
• Minimum audible frames: removes tiny leftover blips after processing.

Presets

Save your settings as a preset to reuse them later.

Tweaking later

The result is saved as a nested group, so you can reopen Remove Silence on it and adjust the settings at any time.
